Focus on building relationships not results

We all get measured on budgets and results.

We have to sell more of what ever our product is than last week, month and so on and so forth.

We all get rewarded for doing this within budget and on time.

The question is how are you increasing sales is it through a costly marketing campaign, show or exhibition?

How do you keep creating business without the expensive marketing costs?

If you spend a fortune on these campaigns and you see the business figures grow what do they do when you turn down the volume on these campaigns and loose the awareness.

This cycle is what turns a lot of business because you then go and spend more money on another awareness campaign.

Is this sustainable?

The buffer we all hit is we are targeted and set up for immediate results and not set up to organically grow at a sustainable rate, based around product, service and relationships.

It’s all about quick wins and easy targets to inflate the figures to prove you are doing your job, but the question is:

is this sustainable?

For me we need to encourage a culture that will focus on forging strong relationships built around service, trust and loyalty.

If you just think of the Football, how many fans get great service, trust the club and are rewarded or recognised for loyalty?
